Saudi Arabia is set to add another major venue to its growing sporting landscape, with Qiddiya Investment Company revealing plans for what will become the Middle East's largest National Tennis Centre. Currently under construction in Qiddiya City, the complex will feature 30 courts, including 28 hard courts and two clay courts, and is being built to ATP, WTA and International Tennis Federation standards, allowing it to stage top-level professional tournaments.
At the heart of the venue will be a 15,000-seat centre court equipped with a retractable roof. The site will also include an 8,000-seat arena, a 5,000-seat show court and another court with capacity for 2,000 spectators, enabling the complex to welcome around 33,000 fans during major events.
Alongside competition courts, the centre will house indoor and practice facilities, as well as athlete performance and recovery areas. Public spaces and fan zones are also planned, with the venue designed to remain active beyond tournament weeks. The project forms part of wider efforts to strengthen the Kingdom's tennis ecosystem, with a focus on hosting international events, developing players and increasing participation in the sport.
Beyond tennis, the venue will also be capable of staging concerts, esports competitions and other live events, giving it a year-round calendar extending beyond the professional tour.
