Registration Opens for the 34th Egyptian Marathon in Luxor

The 34th edition of the Egyptian Marathon will kick off in Luxor on Friday, January 8th, 2027, bringing together runners from around the world for a historic race through Egypt’s ancient landmarks.

First launched in 1992, the marathon has welcomed some of the world’s leading athletes, including Olympic gold medallists and champions like Alain Mimoun, Waldemar Cierpinski, and Gelindo Bordin. The race starts in front of the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and passes iconic sites such as the Temple of Medinet Habu, the Temple of Amenhotep III, and the Colossi of Memnon.

Registration is now open through the Egyptian Marathon website, with participants able to choose from four categories: 5 km, 12 km, the half marathon (21 km), and the full marathon, certified by AIMS.
