UAE National Team Awarded 65 Medals at Jiu-Jitsu World Championship
The UAE’s youth teams won 51 medals across the Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Under-21 divisions at the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship.
The UAE wrapped up the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship on home soil with 65 medals, finishing with 18 gold, 17 silver and 30 bronze across the youth and adult divisions at Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Arena.
The final day saw the national team add four medals in the Adult competition. Abdullah Al Qubaisi claimed silver in the Under-94kg division, while Saeed Al Qubaisi secured silver in the Under-85kg category. Hazza Farhan (+94kg) and Amaar Al Hosani (Under-94kg) each earned bronze, helping the UAE close the tournament with 14 adult medals, including six gold, six silver and two bronze.
Across the championship, the UAE collected 12 medals in the Under-14 World Cup, 13 in the Under-16 division, 13 in the Under-18 division, 13 in the Under-21 division and 14 in the Adult competition.
Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, said the results reflected the team's steady progress through regular international competition, pointing to performances at the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship and the 2026 Paris Open Grand Prix as evidence of continued development. He added that the federation aims to see more athletes reach championship finals and convert those opportunities into gold medals.
